I heard of the Heart Gallery through my mother In early 2007. My brother is adopted but I don't look at him and see someone who was adopted; I see a man that I respect, admire, and love dearly.
My inspiration was peaked and I began to collaborate with Matthew Straeb and the members of the Heart Gallery of Broward County board in Florida to bring in the American Society of Media Photographers to support the cause and create a huge photo shoot for the children.
We had a glorious success on the first shoot with over 13 photographers and 50 children to be photographed. It was such a successful event and I have been photographing children for the Heart Gallery ever since.
When I go home, and I look at my life and all it entails, I am grateful. My goal is to help these children have lives they love, and be able to have the comfort, caring, and support that only a family can provide. These children just want to be loved and the Heart Gallery mission is to give them all permanent loving families.
